Why Does A2CLT Need Membership
Fees?
A2CLT's start-up phase was funded by $650,000 in loans from individuals in the community to purchase seven parcels and kickstart its first development, The Townie Homes.
Now it's time to invite everyone to join the movement and get more homes in the pipeline. We'll use membership fees for down payments on land, predevelopment expenses such as surveys and site plans, and the day-to-day operations of a small development company.
An inspiring example of community investment is the Commongrounds Co-op in Traverse City, where 489 residents invested $1.37 million to seed construction of a mixed-use community co-op with affordable apartments, retail, child care, and arts & performing space.
A2CLT is working to build the financial reserves and track record to qualify for commercial loans for larger projects. Join now and support development for Ann Arbor, by Ann Arbor.
